Susan Foster, BA, MA
Welcome to Clyde Howell Early Childhood Center where children learn quickly that they are in a safe environment and an essential and valuable part of our school family. I am passionate about teaching and it is a privilege to work with children as they discover the joy in reading, writing, singing, creating, and socializing. It is my heart’s desire that this foundation will be the beginning of a love for learning and caring that will last a lifetime!
I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education. I then attended Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. and received a Master of Arts in Education of the Hearing Impaired with an emphasis in Parent/Infant Early Childhood Education. I have taught Pre-Kindergarten at Clyde Howell, Kindergarten in the Edmond Public Schools, privately tutored children, and have been a consultant for classroom teachers. I taught at the Maryland School for the Deaf, developed and implemented a Pre-Kindergarten program for hearing impaired children in Midwest City and served as a Project ECHO parent advisor. I also was a Development Therapist at the Child Study Center in Oklahoma City.
My late husband, Paul, and I have been blessed with two sons, Nicholas and Jonathan and a daughter, Victoria. We enjoy outdoor activities and especially our time spent in the mountains of Red River, New Mexico. We have fun attending sporting events at OSU, playing with our dog, Sophie, and game nights at home.
