As a culminating activity to a unit of study on community workers students and parent volunteers walked to Firestation #2 near Broadway and 15th. Officer DeYager, Clyde Howell’s Edmond Police resource officer, and some of his fellow officers stopped traffic on Broadway to allow each class to safely cross the busy street. The firefighters did an excellent job providing a tour of the station as they
gave all a peek into the day of a firefighter. Students watched as firefighter Zach put on his gear to learn that even though he looks scary he is a safe keeper. The trip concluded with a walk around a firetruck and the chance to climb through the cab to see the inside! It was a fun and memorable day.
